Crowley wrote The Book of the Law on 8, 9 and 10 April 1904, between the hours of noon and 1:00 pm. As he sat at his desk in Cairo, the voice of Aiwass, the messenger of Horus, came from over his left shoulder. The first chapter is from Nuit, the Egyptian goddess of the night sky, called the Queen of Space. Crowley calls her the “Lady of the Starry Heaven, who is also Matter in its deepest metaphysical sense, who is the infinite in whom all we live and move and have our being.” The second is from Hadit, who refers to himself as the “complement of Nu,” his bride. As such, he is the infinitely condensed point, the center of her infinite circumference. “He is eternal energy, the Infinite Motion of Things, the central core of all being.” The third is from Ra-Hoor-Khuit, “a god of War and of Vengeance”, also identified as Hoor-paar-kraat, the Crowned and Conquering Child. Crowley sums them up, “we have Nuit, Space, Hadit, the point of view; these experience congress, and so produce Heru-Ra-Ha, who combines the ideas of Ra-Hoor-Khuit and Hoor-paar-Kraat.”

Feast for the Supreme Ritual and the Equinox of the Gods

ATTENTION! Due to a sudden and unexpected warping of the space-time continuum (likely caused by the astronomical success of our Calendar project) the Equinox is now going to occur on Saturday, March 22nd, at 6:30pm! Okay… I made up the part about the space-time continuum, but we are really rescheduling our celebration of the Equinox for Saturday evening. Hopefully, that will just mean more of you can make it, since it won’t be a school night!

“Aries is scarlet, being the House of Mars and the sign of the Spring Equinox, where occurs the fiery outburst of the new year.” — Aleister Crowley, 777 Revised (1993)

This will be the day of the Spring Equinox, which is our THELEMIC NEW YEAR! We leave behind the year of the Universe, and enter the year of the Fool!    This is also the end of a docosade, as we leave the 22-year period of the Emperor, and enter that of the Hierophant.    Goodbye Anno IVxxi, Hello Anno Vo, the 110th year of the New Aeon!

Members of the First Degree or above may invite interested non-members.

“A feast for the Supreme Ritual, and a feast for the Equinox of the Gods.” – Liber AL , II: 40

The Feast for the Supreme Ritual, observed on March 20 of each year, is a commemoration of the anniversary of Crowley’s successful performance of the Invocation of Horus in Cairo, which brought about the opening of the New Aeon. The Feast for the Equinox of the Gods is a commemoration of the beginning of the New Aeon on March 21, 1904, the commencement of a new magical formula.
